On Wednesday 30th January 2019 FiBL organized the annual organic fruit growing conference (“Bio-Obstbautagung”) in Switzerland.
About 90 people participated in the event. The main topic of this year was the organic fruit production of the future with topics such as plant protection, sustainability and orchard management. DOMINO project and its goals were presented among the ongoing projects. The conference started with short statements of different stakeholders (consumer, farmers, storage keeper, retailer and researcher) to present their view of the organic fruit production in the future. During the conference different talks/presentation about the organic fruit market in Switzerland and the organic production (varieties, plant protection, flower strips, flower thinning etc. ) were given by different stakeholders (farmers’ association, farmers, researcher). Printed leaflets of the DOMINO project were made available to the participants, and some of them asked additional information on the concept and activities of the project.
