Open Day at the Competence Centre for Fruit Growing Bavendorf 7th of July 2018

The project was presented at the Open Day of the Research and Demonstration Farm for Organic fruit growing of the Competence Centre for Fruit Growing Bavendorf. About 120 organic fruit farmers, advisers and other interested stakeholders from the region around Lake Constance as well as visitors from Austria, Switzerland, Poland, France and Italy participated in the event and took the chance to learn about the project DOMINO which was presented in a poster and on-site in the apple orchard. Birgit Lepp and responsible staff from KOB who work in DOMINO presented the project to the participants and introduced the alternative fertilisers used in the trial (silage, dense seeding of peas, clover grass digestates and clover grass pellets vs. vinasse, horngrit) and discussed the field trial.

Other topics of the event were weed control, new resistant variety testing, comparisons of root stocks under organic farming conditions, protected cultivation of apples under rain roof systems and current issues in organic pest control.
